A remodel in Colchester usually produces more volume than people expect, and running out of room is more costly than renting one size up. For 18,137 residents, 15 and 20 yard containers tend to cover most household projects.
Heavy material flips that logic. Concrete and shingles in Colchester reach the weight limit before they reach the top, so a smaller or short-walled box may serve you better than a tall one.

Concrete, brick and dirt need short-walled containers and a clear fill line. Mention them first so the right box gets sent.
You deal with a hauler serving your area, where one covers your address. Their rates and rules are the ones that apply.
Street placement often needs a town permit. Check early, since the local office has the final word on it.
Standard units, accessible units and handwashing stations can all be raised on the same call, whatever the headcount.
Describe what is going in rather than guessing yards. Roofing, concrete and household clutter all load very differently.
Sizes, rules and costs, explained for Colchester renters.
Go by the job, not the house. A single bathroom or small cleanout in Colchester often fits a 10 yard, a kitchen or several rooms of flooring a 15, and a mid-size reroof or full-floor remodel a 20. Going one size up usually costs less than a second haul.
Rentals generally include a set tonnage, and anything above it is billed by the ton once the load crosses the scale. Roofing, dirt and masonry reach that limit quickly. Ask for the included weight and the per-ton rate for Colchester before you start loading.
Rental periods are set by each provider, and many start around a week. If your Colchester project may run long, say so on the first call, because extra days are often cheaper when agreed before delivery than added afterward.
Sometimes. It depends on whether a provider serving Colchester has a container open and a truck with room on its route. Your odds improve if you call early in the day and stay flexible on size. Nobody can promise it for every address.
On private property, usually not. On a street, sidewalk or other public right of way, many towns do require one, and the rules differ across VT. Check with the Colchester public works or permit office before the drop-off date.
Guests and hours set the number. Planning charts assume more units as an event runs longer, and you should add some if alcohol or lots of drinks are on offer. Give the provider your Colchester headcount and hours and ask them to size the order.
